This drawing resulted from me wondering if I can still use a pencil for something other than a quick outline.
Aaaand I wanted to draw one of my OCs, cause I havent done that in ages. Minette needs to be drawn more often. But holy crap her hair killed me! She needs a haircut! T-T Ah, I almost forgot how it feels to have your hand cramp up from shading. XD Good times, good times. Minette (C) Me Texture from [link] CommentsThere's so much detail, that must have taken you a while!
And you know.. It's almost as if she's looking right through me. I'm really impressed! -- This place is full of boy love! Thank you. XD The face is always my favorite part to draw.

It didn't really take that long. XD; An hour here and there, and I'm lazy so I spread it out over a few days. -- Commissions are open! [link] The kraken stirs. And ten billion sushi dinners cry out for vengeance. Very eyecatching!! I love the drawing, style and shading!

-- My web manga: Zombie Masters When I close my eyes I am at the center of the sun And I cannot be hurt By anything this wicked world has done __Conjure One: Center of the Sun The Collier bone looks really cool. I love the way you shade your artwork (it's totally worth the hand cramping). The eyes seem ever so slightly slanted, but her expression totally rocks the picture.
-- Caboomkins, then her mind was lost, she felt rather sweell after that... Awsome club -> [link] Oh man, I was worried about that collar bone. o_o I didnt have a reference so I wasn't sure if it came out ok.
Thank you! -- Commissions are open! [link] The kraken stirs. And ten billion sushi dinners cry out for vengeance. It's not 100% anatomically correct. The way it came out is very stylized, so I think its better that you didn't have a reference.

I do notice that the ear on her left is ever so slightly higher up than the other ear. I do not know why this is so noticable, but if you look at it for a longer amount of time it does tend to stick out. Also be a little careful with the way those dreadlocks are done. To quote my sister: That one hanging forward kinda looks like a penis. (doohohoho)
Her forehead also goes a little too high up. Her hairline starts quite high on her head.
I don't know about the neck. Hmmm. Is it too skinny? Does it angle a little in? It doesn't really detract from the picture, and infact might add to the style of the drawing, so I am so-so about being all "OMGGGDURDURDUR" about it. So yea. Just ignore that. Neck? what neck? What are you talking about? I said NOTHING about the neck, damn it!
Its hard to be really finicky about anatomy with things like this. Its all about balancing anatomy with style. Sometimes a little artistic interpretation here and there will add more to the piece than detract from it. Some people will say we always have to stick to the basics of anatomy to make things look as realistic as possible, and rarely will do any kind of exaggerating of things to emphasize an emotion or pose. Others are way more open to interpretation, and exaggerate all the time to really give life to their work. Its all about personal preference. This is the case with this drawing, I believe, and anything anyone says is drawn from their own opinions of how things should be drawn
